It is really important to build lasting cooperation and partnership between communities in border regions, border openness. The border crossing is also the first line of the fight against cross-border crime concerning smuggling of goods and people. The project aims at increase openness and security of the Polish-Ukrainian border in the area of Lubelskie Voivodship and Volynska Oblast. This reinforces the positive impact of the existence of the border crossing in Zosin- Ustylug on the development of cross-border cooperation and will increase the benefits of the border location for the eastern areas of Poland/ European Union. The project foresees the development of infrastructure of the border crossing on Polish side (construction of 3 new clearance lanes, 2 clearance pavilions, roof over the pavilions, telecommunication systems installation) as well as purchase of specialists and office equipment (passport readers, computers, document shredders), which “opens” the border for further mutual cross-border cooperation.
