Project area is characterized by a weak connectivity and insufficient communication networks which hamper the crossborder contacts, impede transit traffic, and in consequence cripple the attractiveness for investors and tourists.The overall objective is to increase of welfare and development of the Polish – Belarusian border regions through improved accessibility, tourism attractiveness, cooperation links and joint sustainable transport management. Project aims at fostering the borderland transport sector. Through improvement of transport infrastructure complementary to regional and transboundary transportation networks, established cross-border partnership – network for transport governance, joint workshops, surveys and feasibility studies, developed “Integrated Strategy for Cross-border Transport Governance” and internet platform for sustainable transport governance network Project makes borderland area more accessible, safe and convenient for streams of passenger traffic, public services, tourists and inhabitants. Through promotion and development of eco-friendly solutions and establishment of long-term cooperation network for cross-border transportgovernance project significantly influences sustainable transport development.
