Project description

Zagórz Commune and the city of Dobromyl plan a project, the aim of which is to protect the resources of cross border natural heritage-basin of the San river (the Osława river and Wyrwa river). Only the joint implementation of the project will protect the Upper Basin of the San River, which is a place of occurrence of many valuable natural spieces, 9 of which are protected species and endangered spieces. Despite the attractiveness of the landscape and great tourist potential, as a result of water pollution natural resources of the area are poorly used, which results in a low level of development of the area. Not all households are equipped in watertight septic  tanks and therefore some sewage may leak into the natural environment, the soil and the surface water cousing its pollution. The overall objective of the project is to improve the use of the natural heritage of border areas of the Carpathians in the development of the tourist offer with the principles of sustainable development. It is planned 25.64% increase in the number of tourists that will visit objects of natural heritage located in the project area and in its immediate neighbourhood.
