Project description

Polesie is a Polish and Ukrainian common natural heritage, therefore cross-border cooperation is essential in the GamPol project. The overall objective is to promote this area, including attractions in the Ludwin Commune and Ustylug, through modern territorial marketing. The main and strongest advantages of Polesie are numerous transboundary biospheres of high natural values. Unfortunately, tourist traffic in this area is sparse as tourists have little to no knowledge of its attractions. Another factor contributing to this situation is poor marketing and promotion of Polesie, as well as a narrow and standardized offer for tourists.

The main product of the project will be “Game of Polesie”. This game will be a LARP (live-action role-playing) kind of open-air game and will take place in Polesie, including the Ludwin and Ustylug areas. As part of the project, trainings of natural heritage marketing will be organised, surveys on the Polesie heritage areas to be considered in the games will be conducted, games’ scenarios will be created. A bilingual board game and LARP game with interactions will be developed, and its online version will be used to organise a cross-border tournament.

Polesie, being the cross-border region, requires partners to cooperate. Thanks to this, it will strengthen the natural heritage marketing, promotion and advertisement. The Game of Polesie and the tournament have a universal form, which means that they will be editable, ready for redevelopments and easy to adapt to other regions and areas.

The GamPol project, by making use of natural heritage marketing, will provide partners with the necessary knowledge, as well as tools to implement the new tourism offer, which will increase the attractiveness of the Polesie, including the Ludwin and Ustylug regions. Moreover, thanks to these activities, more tourists will come to this territory. Short-term visitors and tourists will gain new possibilities in regional tourism, allowing them to visit the transboundary heritage places and take advantage of the numerous facilities, which are available there.
