Zagórz and Dobromil Communes are situated in culturally and naturally valuable areas. The eastern part of the Polish-Ukrainian borderland has also the highest concentration of historical sites among all Polish borderlands. The cultural heritage, including the existing historical infrastructure of the region, is not adequately used. Therefore, it is important to raise the level of sustainable use of these cultural and historical values by the residents and tourists in the southern part of the Polish-Ukrainian border.
The Touch_history project will focus on organizing historical and cultural events and thus on creating new tourist products. Two spectacular shows will take place in both countries - the Festival at the Castle in Dobromil and the historical staging in Zagórz. The program includes among others: reconstructions of historical battles, theatrical and dance performances, concerts, fencing and drill presentations, arranging historical scenes from social life, crafts and artisan demonstrations, numerous workshops and competitions. Moreover, a promotional exhibition of photos taken by one of the respected Lviv photographers about the Dobromil Castle will be organized, as well as promotional seminar and a study visit to Dobromil. All these activities, supported by a wide-ranging promotional campaign including websites, social media, press conference, film production, advertising materials and promotional gadgets, will contribute to better use of the cultural and historical heritage, and consequently attract the interest of a wide audience. Using this potential is an important link in the development of cooperation within the local community with particular emphasis on the promotion of local cultural heritage and its multicultural aspect.
Target groups of the Touch_history will be the inhabitants of Zagórz and Dobromil areas, tourists, local authorities representatives, local and regional journalists, NGOs representatives and tourist guides. Moreover, integration between residents of both communes will be strengthened. After completion of the project, the products will be further used to provide an attractive offer for inhabitants and tourists.
