Study visit of Ukrainian self-government representatives in Poland

From 2nd to 6th September, the Programme within its own initiative the Cross-border Academy of Development organized the study visit for representatives of Ukrainian regional self-governments. Representatives became acquainted with selected projects implemented in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship and met with potential partners.

The guests were welcomed by Leszek Buller, Director of the Center of European Projects, who emphasized that study visit is a unique opportunity for participants to establish contacts with Polish local government officials for the implementation of future projects under the Programme.

After the welcome ceremony, all participants went to the Clinical Provincial Hospital No. 1 to learn i.a. about the effects of the Large Infrastructure Project Reducing of the risk of TB epidemic in the border areas of Ukraine and Poland through the construction of tuberculous hospital for 100 beds in Zakarpatska Oblast and introduction of innovative methods of tuberculous monitoring, prevention and treatment which is implemented by this institution together with Health Department of the Regional State Administration of the Transcarpathian Region.

Ukrainian self-government representatives took also part in the 29th Economic Forum in Krynica. Every year, the event is visited by around 4 thousand guests from several countries. During the Forum, participants had the opportunity to exchange political, economic and social views, establish partner contacts and obtain information about the Programme at the PBU promotional stand (more on our participation in the Forum: here).

The study visit ended with a meeting with authorities of the Subcarpathian Voivodeship and a visit to the Rzeszow Regional Development Agency, which is beneficiary of PBU projects (i.a. Science and experience for business; FARADAY - Building of permanent mechanisms for cross-border cooperation in the field of RES; SUMCITYNET: cities towards increasing accessibility and sustainable climate-proof urban mobility).

In the study visit took part i.a.: Iryna Vakhovych -   Head of the Volyn Region Council, Serhii Svystaliuk - First Deputy Head of the Rivne Regional Council, Vasyl Gladiy - First Deputy Head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Сouncil, as well as regional deputies from Lviv, Transcarpathian and Volyn Regions.
