Due to the long anticipation for the results of that competition, we were pleasantly surprised of receiving the Cross Border Award “Sail of Papenburg” 2018. The award is presented by the Association of European Borders Regions (AEBR) and it honours the outstanding activities in the border or cross-border regions. The 2018 edition of the award was organized under the patronage of Corina Creţu, EU Commissioner for Regional Policy together with Karl-Heinz Lambertz, President of the European Committee of the Regions. The motto of 2018 edition was “Education and Employment in Cross-border Regions”.

The project that was submitted for the award by our Programme “Cross-border Labour Market Support Center” was an umbrella project implemented in the 2007-2013 Programme edition. It was managed by the Polish Lead Beneficiary – “European Meeting Centre - Nowy Staw Foundation” from Lubelskie Voivodeship and included 5 micro-projects with partners from Poland and Ukraine.

This project aimed at improving the situation of youths on the labour market and increasing their chances of finding the dream job. The objective was to provide professional support in the scope of youth career development.
