On 14th July 2020 the Step by Step Association for Help to Disabled Children from Zamość (Poland) signed the grant contract on the implementation of the project “The borderland of equal chances” (acronym: BEC).
The BEC project is a joint initiative with the Association of Disabled Children, Their Parents, and Friends – 'Dawn of Hope' from Kremenets (Ukraine). It will be implemented under the Thematic Objective Security, priority 3.1 Support to the development of health protection and social services.
The prevention of social exclusion is one of the most important values supported by the Programme. People with disabilities experience a whole range of barriers and are excluded from social life due to the lack of adequate infrastructure and insufficient social support. The goal of the BEC project is to change this situation on the Polish-Ukrainian borderland. As a result of cooperation between the project partners, two new Centres of Conductive Education for people with disabilities will be established in Zamość and Kremenets, offering high-quality social services and improved quality of life. The centres will create the basis for further joint work and a new quality of integrated rehabilitation system and social infrastructure for local patients and their families.
BEC is another “reserve list” project, which implementation is possible due to the savings generated in the Programme. It will receive nearly 2 M EUR of co-financing and will last two years.
More information on the project can be found here.
We congratulate the project partners and wish them a lot of success in their ambitious tasks related to the project goals.
