Almost 9 km of roads were renovated thanks to the LUBANOVO project, implemented under the ACCESSIBILITY Thematic Objective. On 13th June, during a common conference, the Polish and Ukrainian partners summed up this project, which full title is " Expansion of the regional road No. 867: section from Lubaczów to Basznia Górna and road No. C142005 Shklo-Novoiavorivsk".

The main part of the project was the renovation of the regional road No. 867 on the Lubaczów-Basznia section (7.3 km) on the Polish side and approx. 1-km section of the road no. C142005 Shklo-Novoiavorivsk, which connects Budomierz-Hrushev border crossing point with Lviv. All of these investments received support from the Programme in the amount of nearly 2.3 M EUR.

The participants of the closing conference, which took a place in Ruda Różaniecka near Lubaczow, had the opportunity to see on site the effects of the works performed on the regional road No. 867.  The representatives of the Programme who participated in the conference presented information on the PBU “road” projects. The road engineers shared their expertise, which was of particular importance for the guests from Ukraine in the context of the reconstruction of their country devastated by war.

The beneficiary representative, the director of the Podkarpackie Regional Road Management, Piotr Miąso emphasized that:

We can see these good effects and outcomes of cooperation even in these bad times.

Whereas Halyna Lytvyn, the former director of the Euroregion Carpathians – Ukraine, speaking on behalf of the Ukrainian delegation added that:

The Cross-Border Cooperation Program is not only about the number of road kilometres, number of projects completed or number of events held, but also the force of impact after implementation.
