The Poland-Belarus-Ukraine Programme was hosting one of the discussion panels as a part of the Economic Forum in Krynica-Zdrój.
The Program’s discussion panel took place on 7th September as a part of the XXVII Economic Forum in Krynica-Zdrój, with the participation of: Adam Hamryszczak, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Economic Development, Leszek Buller, Director of the Center of European Projects, Oleksandr Hanuszczyn, Chairman of the Lviv Regional Council and Aliaksandr Vlaskin, national expert of the EU ITA Center in Belarus. As part of the discussion entitled "Stagnation or progress? Over a decade of Polish-Belarusian-Ukrainian cooperation on the EU eastern border" which was moderated by Paweł Słowikowski, Head of the Joint Technical Secretariat of the Programme, panelists discussed the achievements of the Programme in each of the three countries, highlighting its importance in the process of development of the border area. What was particularly emphasized was the high demand for funds available within the Programme mainly for infrastructure investments, but also in the field of environmental protection or in supporting tourism development. Experts stressed that the effects of projects realised within 2007-2013 perspective are already bringing measurable benefits.
Experts from the Joint Technical Secretariat of the Programme were also panelists in other discussions at the Forum: Paweł Słowikowski took part in the panel about European Carpathian Strategy in the context of the cross-border cooperation, Stanisław Bielański presented Programme’s experience in terms of Polish-Ukrainian cooperation during debate about free trade zone between the European Union and the newly associated countries, Tomasz Jędrzejewski talked about regional development policy referring to the experience from projects implemented within the Programme, while taking part in the panel on international partnership between cities and regions.
The Center for European Projects was a partner of the XXVII Economic Forum which was held in Krynica-Zdrój on 5th – 7th September. The theme of this year’s Forum was “Project Europe – recipe for next decade?”. As a part of the Forum there was a CEP stand at the Małopolska Pavilion, where one could meet experts from various EU programmes, including the Poland-Belarus-Ukraine Programme.
