Nearly 2 thousand people took part in the Polish edition of the European Cooperation Day 2017 in Sanok, on Sunday, 24th September. The event, titled “Klimaty Pogranicza” (“The Cross-border Atmosphere”) was organized by the Rzeszow Branch Office of the Programme. It was focused on the cultural and natural heritage, thus it was held in the surroundings of the landscape park in one of the largest open-air museum of wooden architecture in Europe.
Around the Galician Market visitors could visit the stands of Eastern Poland voivodeships, national and landscape parks, State Forests and European Funds. There was also opportunity to view the photo exhibition of projects implemented under the Programme Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2007-2013, see traditional crafts, taste regional cuisine, listen to the performances of the Kremenaros Ensemble and take a ride on Hucul horses. The development of their breeding in the Polish and Ukrainian Carpathians is the result of one of projects implemented under the Programme.
The main attraction of the event was the concert of The Tadeusz Sygietyński State Folk Song And Dance Ensemble “MAZOWSZE”. This ambassador of the Polish culture during nearly 70 years has gathered over 25 million audience worldwide. During the EC Day in Sanok, one and a half hour concert gathered about 2 thousand spectators.
The European Cooperation Day has been celebrated in the Member States of the European Union since 2012. The general objective of the EC Day is to present projects implemented with financial support of the European Union.
