On February, 22 in Yaremche (Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast) grant contract for the project "Adaptation of former observatory on the Pip Ivan mountain to the needs of alpine rescue service training center” was signed.
It is another project signed under the thematic objective Security, which is targeted at establishing close cooperation between Polish and Ukrainian rescue services to improve the safety of mountain tourism and improve the qualifications of the personnel responsible for rescue operations. Within the project, reconstruction and structural adaptation of former astronomical and meteorological observatory on the Pip Ivan mountain to the needs of high mountain rescue service training center as well as rescue station functioning all the year round. Joint Polish-Ukrainian trainings for mountain rescuers will be organized and an e-services platform for sharing experiences, informing tourists about prevention, safety and meteorological forecasts will be created.
