The partners from Łęczna and Kovel cooperate on increasing cultural and tourist attractiveness in their areas. Common works will lead to the development of the Polish-Ukrainian border region by the promotion of unique cultural heritage resources and creating tourist cultural offers. The project is addressed to local governments, cultural institutions, social organizations, residents of Łęczna, Kovel, residents, and tourists. The project is planning to solve the problem of the lack of promotion and not using the full potential of cultural heritage resources.
The PBU CommonIdentity project is focused on improving the promotion of the cultural heritage of Łęczna and Kovel. The economic, cultural, and tourist potential, mentality, and commitment of the population to culture are the strengths, however, they are not fully used. On both sides of the border, information and thematic boards will be put at the facilities and locations as a part of the didactic path in Łęczna and Kovel. In the geographical centre of Łęczna and on the Boulevard Lesya Ukrainka in the centre of Kovel, a city map will be put up in the form of a billboard on which cultural heritage objects and monuments with photographs are going to be marked. For interested researchers and visitors, a web portal will be created. Moreover, partners of the CommonIdentity will organize cross-border events, create new tourist products, promotional campaigns, and publications.
The CommonIdentity will be targeted at residents, tourists, local governments, cultural institutions, social organizations. Partners will also ensure that tourism products are going to be easily accessible to people with disabilities. Common work shall support future development and increasing the potential of these border regions through the effective use of cultural and historical heritage resources.
