Project description

Unique natural-protected sites, located in the border regions of Sokółka (Poland) and Hrodna (Belarus), have great tourist potential. Unfortunately, these territories as tourist destinations are not in high demand among the inhabitants and visitors. The Belarusian and Polish partners aim to increase the competitiveness and attractiveness of the area through the visualization of protected natural objects and their promotion.

For this purpose, the GreenView partners will systematize information about protected natural objects located in the Knyszyn Forest Landscape Park (PL), the Hrodna Forest Landscape Reserve (BY) and along the Łosośna – Lasosna – Neman rivers. This goal will be achieved through the joint work of photographers and experts from two countries in the fields of photography and videography, tourism, nature conservancy during photo and video competitions and expeditions, cross-border round tables and publication of the work. To promote protected areas, it is also planned to update/develop three green water tourist routes and create their electronic versions in the form of a mobile application. These routes will run through the Hrodna Forest Landscape Reserve, the Knyszyn Forest Landscape Park and along the Łosośna – Lasosna – Neman rivers.

The Polish-Belarusian efforts will help to raise the awareness of inhabitants and visitors of the regions on the natural heritage of both forests. As tourism potential improves, new opportunities for cross-border ecotourism will be created on both sides of the border.
