The territories of Hrodna and Białystok are part of a multicultural and multilingual cross-border region. Many representatives of Polish culture and science, such as Orzeszkowa, Mickiewicz, Zamenhof, etc. cannot be properly studied without taking into consideration the fact that they were born and lived on the territory of present Belarus. Therefore, studying characters belonging to different cultures requires a joint effort of scientists from Poland and Belarus.
The ORZ-ZAM project aims to promote the culture and history of the cross-border regions by the preservation and development of the historical and literary heritage of Orzeszkowa and Zamenhof. Moreover, the project will facilitate cross-border tourism and will increase the diversity and quality of existing tourist services. The first planned output is the new tourist route "Orzeszkowa's life and work paths". It will connect all historically and culturally important places related to the life of the Polish writer in the Hrodna region. The route will be accompanied by a specially designed excursion available in three language versions (Belarusian, Polish, and English) and marked with information boards. The second achievement will be the “The Esperanto and Multicultural route” already existing on the Białystok tourist route, which will be enriched with a specially designed trip available in three languages (Belarusian, Polish, and English) containing the facts currently presented and new facts determined by the research community. For both routes, promotional materials such as leaflets and information brochures will be published to promote and sustain the results of the project.
The developed routes as tourism products will be further used by guides and travel agencies. The project outcomes will also include some tangible objects: a collection of research papers following international conferences, as well as brochures promoting the developed routes.
