The project BeautifulHeritage will be the first joint undertaking between the towns Łęczna (Poland) and Valožyn (Belarus) and simultaneously it initiates the cooperation of their institutions: Centre of Culture in Łęczna and Valožyn Raion Executive Committee. They come together to celebrate the work of Ferdynand Ruszczyc, the famous Polish artist who lived, worked and was buried in Bogdanovo in the Valožyn raion. The promotion, integration and development of cultural heritage resources through cross-border cultural events, painting exhibitions as well as improving facilities is the key project idea.
The main infrastructure part will be the reconstruction of the stairs leading up to the burial place of the Ruszczyc family in Bogdanovo. Ruszczyc lived there with his family in historic manor house and they have been buried there. The manor estate has been destroyed by the fire, but the burial place and the stairs leading up to it luckily remained. Due to bad technical condition the stairs need reconstruction.
The multi-day cross-border cultural events entitled „Polish-Belarusian art, culture and friendship" in Łęczna and „The beautiful heritage of Ferdynand–art, culture and friendship” in Valožyn and Bogdanovo will be organized.
The project objective is to increase the cultural, social and tourist attractiveness of Łęczna and Valožyn, and, in consequence, whole Polish-Belarusian borderland.
